Adi Subramanya temple, located in the Subramanya village of Karnataka. It is a auspicious temple dedicated to Lord Subramanya or Kartikeya or Murugan who is worshiped as lord of all the snakes. It is believed to be an ancient and spiritually powerful temple that attracts devotees seeking relief from Sarpa dosha.
Significance
The temple holds great historical and mythological value. According to legend, it is considered as the original place where lord Subramanya resided before moving to the famous Kukke Subramanya temple. The term "Adi" means original or first and hence the name Adi Subramanya.One of the temple's unique feature is the idol is worshiped in the form of ant nest or ant mound representing the connection to snake worship. Devotees often perform rituals like 'Ashlesha Bali' to relieve from Sarpa Dosha mainly on auspicious days.
