Mattupetty Dam, Munnar

Mattupetty Dam or Madupetty Dam is located near Munnar in Idukki district which is a storage gravity dam built with concrete in the mountains of Kerala to conserve water for hydroelectricity. 

It has been a important source of power for Idukki district. The large amount of consistently available water allows wild animals and birds to flourish. The height of the dam is 273.5 ft and the length is 780.0 ft.

Munnar bus stand is the nearest stop at a distance of around 10.7 KM from the Mattupetty dam. There are frequent buses running from bus stand to dam for every 30 minutes. You can take a local bus or taxi to reach the dam.
