Mekedatu is a location along Kaveri in the border of Chamarajanagar and Ramanagara districts. From this point, about 3.5 KM downstream the river flows through a deep and narrow gorge. The drive to Mekedatu takes you through the villages of Karnataka. On the way there are boards showing directions to Mekedatu and Sangam. You will have to first drive to Sangama and then proceed to Mekedatu from there. Once you reach Sangama you have to take a boat ride to reach the other side of the river.
